Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

The short version

1. Who we are

SesiAI ("Sesi", "we", "us") is an AI buddy for children, run by P Gopi Krishna. This policy covers the app at app.sesiai.in and the website sesiai.in.

Sesi is used by children, but the account belongs to a parent or guardian, who agrees to this policy for their child.

2. What we collect

WhatDetails
Your grown-up accountYour email address; your Sesi password (stored only as a salted, one-way "hash", so nobody, including us, can read it); how you heard about Sesi; an invite code, if you had one; when you agreed to our terms and this policy.
Where you areYour country, worked out from your internet address (or your phone's time zone) when you first use Sesi, to show the right prices and free trial. The lookup happens on our own server, using a free database (IP geolocation by DB-IP); your address isn't sent to them. Your time zone, so "today's Sesi time" follows your own day. We don't track your location beyond this.
Plans and Sesi timeYour plan, when it started and ends, any extra time you bought, and how many minutes Sesi was used each day.
PaymentsPayments are handled by Razorpay. We receive the order and payment reference, the amount and currency, and whether the card was issued in India. We never see or store card numbers, UPI IDs or bank details.
Sign-in and securityA random sign-in token stored in a secure cookie, and short-lived records of failed attempts, so nobody can guess passwords or codes.
Your feedbackIf you answer the quick question during the free trial: your rating, what your child enjoyed, your idea for Sesi, and whether we may email you about it. Only a grown-up's answers, never your child's words.
Reminders (only if a grown-up turns them on)Your phone's reminder address (made by Google or Apple for this app), your time zone, and when Sesi was last opened and a reminder last sent, so reminders come only at good times and not too often. Turn them off any time in Settings.
Visits to our website and appWhen a page opens, our own server notes the time, the page, your browser type, the website you came from, and your internet address. We use it only to count visits (how many, from where, phone or computer). No cookies and no outside analytics company.
Messages you send usIf you email us, we keep your email and our reply for as long as needed to help you.

We don't ask for your child's full name, age, school, photo, address or phone number, and we don't collect them.

3. Your child's chats

What stays on your phone

The chat history (deleted automatically after 30 days), Sesi's short memory note ("likes dinosaurs"), stickers, the safety log, the weekly note, the settings and the PIN (stored as a hash) are kept only on your phone, in the browser's storage. You can delete them any time in grown-up settings with "Delete everything on this device".

What goes to our server, and on to the AI service

To answer, each message your child sends goes to our server and then to an AI service. Before it leaves your phone, and again on our server, phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses and passwords are removed automatically. Along with the message we send what Sesi needs to reply kindly: your child's first name if you gave one, their class, school board and age group, the recent conversation, Sesi's memory note, and anything you wrote in "What should Sesi know". Our server does not keep these messages. It passes them on and forgets them. Our records only count what kind of safety moment happened (for example "emergency"), never the words.

Safety checks

Every message is checked for safety by an AI "sorter" before Sesi answers. If a message looks like an emergency or a child in distress, Sesi tells your child to find a trusted grown-up, and it appears in the safety log on your phone. We are not sent an alert, and nobody else is told.

Voice

Talking to Sesi: the microphone uses your phone's or browser's own speech recognition. Depending on your device, this may be processed by its maker (for example Google in Chrome, or Apple in Safari) under their privacy terms. Sesi only receives the written words.

Sesi's voice: normally your phone reads Sesi's replies aloud itself. If we switch on our "warm voice", the reply text (not your child's words) is sent to OpenAI to be turned into speech.

The camera (off unless you switch it on)

If a grown-up turns on the feelings camera with the PIN, the face reading runs entirely on your phone. Only a feeling word like "happy" is used, to help Sesi respond gently. No image or video is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. The face-reading software is downloaded from Google's and jsDelivr's servers the first time the camera is used.

The weekly note

If you tap "Write this week's note", your child's own messages from this week (personal details removed) are sent once to the AI service to write a short summary for you. The note is kept on your phone.

4. Why we use it

We use your information because you agreed to it (your consent), and because we need it to provide the service you asked for. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never use your child's chats to train AI.

5. Who helps us

We share only what each one needs to do its job:

WhoWhat for
OpenRouter, and the AI companies it connects us to (such as Anthropic)Writing Sesi's replies and the safety checks. We ask OpenRouter to use only AI providers that do not store or train on these messages.
OpenAIOnly if the "warm voice" is on: turning Sesi's reply text into speech.
RazorpayTaking payments (India and international).
ContaboThe servers Sesi runs on.
Our email providerSending sign-up and password-reset codes.
Google, Apple (only with reminders on)Deliver the reminder to your phone. The words are encrypted for your phone, so they can't read them.
Google Fonts, jsDelivrDelivering the fonts and, if the camera is used, the face-reading software. They see your internet address, like any website you visit.
Cloudflare (if we use it)Protecting the website from attacks and telling us which country a visitor is in.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect a child from serious harm. If SesiAI is ever sold or merged, this policy will continue to apply to your information.

6. How long we keep it

7. Keeping it safe

We use secure connections (HTTPS), store passwords and codes only as hashes, limit repeated tries, lock our servers down, and keep as little as we can. No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever went wrong that affected your information, we would tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you and your child, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. That stops the service, since Sesi can't work without it. You can:

If you're in India, these rights come from the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you're elsewhere, you may have similar rights under your own country's laws, and we'll honour them. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to your country's data protection authority.

9. Countries

We're based in India. The AI services and servers we use may be in other countries (for example the United States or Singapore), so your information may be handled outside your own country, always under this policy.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it applies, and ask for your agreement again where the law requires.
